Al-Mohra Resort announces its intention to appoint a General Manager with high professional and managerial expertise to join the resort’s distinguished team. Al-Mohra Resort is considered the first of its kind in Jordan, offering a wide range of high-quality services in one destination, including hospitality services such as accommodation, restaurants, and cafés, in addition to providing a unique horse-riding experience in a wonderful and enjoyable environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields or an equivalent qualification:
Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Hospitality and Hotel Management, Tourism Management. A Master’s degree in Project Management is preferred.
- Proven experience of no less than 10 years in one or more of the following areas: Service sector management; management of hotels, resorts, or hospitality centers; or management of equestrian centers / high-end sports clubs with a strong service orientation.
- Previous experience in a luxury work environment or a tourist destination targeting high-expectation clientele is preferred.
- Leading the development and periodic updating of the resort’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives, and translating them into operational plans and programs for all departments.
- Overall supervision of the resort’s operations, including: Equestrian services (stables, championships, and academy), restaurants, cafés, accommodation, and all administrative and financial departments.
- Approving annual operational and financial plans for all departments and ensuring proper implementation.
- Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at the resort level.
- Supervising the preparation and management of the resort’s annual budgets, controlling expenses, and maximizing revenues to ensure financial sustainability.
- Supporting and developing the resort’s value-based identity and reflecting it in employees’ daily behavior, service quality, and customer experience.
- Overseeing the quality and safety management system across the resort.
- Leading and directing all department managers, including the distribution of responsibilities and authorities.
- Performance evaluation, supervision of development and leadership-building plans, oversight of key executive recruitment processes, approval of organizational structures and job descriptions.
- Supervising and supporting marketing, sales, and public relations activities, and contributing to building the resort’s image with partners, clients, and media.
- Building and managing relationships with key partners, including:
equestrian federations and organizing bodies, tourism companies, schools, universities, potential sponsors, and relevant government entities.
- Identifying major risks facing the resort (financial, operational, reputational, safety-related) and developing risk management and contingency plans.
- Overseeing the management of major complaints and feedback from guests, key clients, or horse owners, and ensuring proper resolution to protect the resort’s reputation.
- Preparing and submitting periodic comprehensive reports to the resort owner / senior management on financial and operational performance, as well as development and expansion opportunities.
- Possession of advanced training courses in: Strategic management and planning, performance management, budgeting, and profitability in the service sector.
- Good command of the English language to deal with international references, guests, and non-Arabic-speaking partners.
